Breed & Size Dispositions
GOLPP usually affects senior and geriatric dogs anywhere from 8-14 years old but the average age is 11 years old. Male dogs seem to get it more.
Medium to large breed dogs
Medium to large breed dogs are predisposed to GOLPP and we tend to see it very commonly with Labrador Retrievers but other breeds often get it including: greyhounds, Newfoundlands, German shepherds, Australian shepherds, borzois, golden retrievers, Saint Bernards, Irish setters, and English setters. It also affects a medium-size breed—Brittany spaniels.

Small breed dogs
GOLPP is uncommon in small- and toy-breed dogs; those breeds tend to have upper airway problems related to their head conformation.
