We want to thank the pet parents who have shared the pictures and videos of their dogs with GOLPP.  It can present mildly to severe.  Keep in mind, that they can appear different in your dog, so if you have any concerns - see your veterinarian - but also, take videos of your dog at rest and after mild exertion!

Geriatric Onset Laryngeal Paralysis and Polyneuropathy (GOLPP) is a common neurological disorder of dogs (usually large breed – Labradors and Newfoundlands are most common) which effects the larynx and eventually leads to difficulty breathing. Left unmanaged, can lead to death. Dr Mary Gardner enlists the help of an expert on this disease, Dr. Stanley Bryden – a veterinary surgeon who talks about this disease from cause, presentation, surgical and medical treatment options.
